To complete the walk, go straight ahead from point six, over the crossing track and the stile opposite, from which a clear unfenced path drops steadily downhill. I only say that because the entrance to the path on Lewes end of the East bank is difficult to find. I cant recall how many gates you walk through on your way up, but at one of them you will see your first signage pointing to the South Downs way. Iford can be accessed from the GMT footpath which links to the Egrets Way at Swanborough holiday lodges. To get there, head up the hill out of the station (on Station road).
