The girl's bathroom has a bath with a shower overhead whereas the boys is just a shower - THE WATER PRESSURE AND TEMPERATURE IS AMAZING. Good location, easy to get into uni. Id seen many other unis accommodation in other cities which were really modern etc, which is very different to oak house. Students are however required to bring their own cutlery and crockery. The accommodation itself isn't that great but being one of the cheaper places, the people are much more down to earth and laid back. When I first moved to my flat I accidently banged my suitcase against every bedroom door on the way to my room, in the hope that my new flat mates would hear the noise and come out of their rooms to say hi. The flats are split level, with four bedrooms and a bathroom on each level, and a big kitchen/living room on either the lower or upper floor. Each wing has one Resident Assistant with about 25 students per wing. And my favourite had to be the amazing desserts; they made the most wonderful cheesecake! My experience within in my flat in Oak House was great as firstly it was very cheap but also had a range of other options for rooms with more luxuries. Its down to maintenance to sort it out before I have a serious meltdown. The kitchens do what you need, although 1 fridge and 1 freezer for 8 people can be a bit tight. It is a great place to live, right in the middle of student life. Every hall offers an extensive range of facilities, from computer clusters and libraries, to sports and bars, meaning you'll never be short of things to do or ways to socialise andrelax. I also relished the flexibility of self-catering as you can eat when youre hungry, and if you have a commitment, you can adjust your mealtimes accordingly. The rooms are small and are a horrible colour of green with green and orange tartan curtains. The city centre is equally accessibleonly ten minutes by bus. I'm currently living in Maple Court in Oak House and it's completely fantastic! The nightlife in Fallowfield is incredible, especially during freshers week. Cupboard doors are hanging off their hinges and wheels have fallen off chairs, but the walls, floors and ceilings are still intact, so I would call that a win.
