It starts out in the smaller sizes (149-153) as a board that is best for size 8-10s. It also made the Jones Mountain Twin and Ultra Mountain Twin feel like a fast turner and thats not a fast turning board. It does everything well but nothing memorably well. The board is made from SWS in Dubai instead of GST in Austria. The 2017 Yes Standardhas much more of an all mountain/all conditions appeal to it this year and is now a lot like what the 2016 Yes Optimistic use to be. Thats why it isnt called the Jones Park Twin. The YES Standard worked really well for me in a size 153 and to my surprise it has more surface area than the longer narrower model in 2017 or the 2021 Globe Traditionalist that fit me perfectly. Speed: Its a pretty fast board and likes to bomb for sure. One thing we would like to see is a little more pop through a little more camber or some other tech that can help this snap harder. The 156 and 153 both had a bouncy nose/tail but a base with above average glide. The Jones Mountain Twin comes in as the cheaper of the two styles of snowboards, but not by a lot. The pop has improved for 2021 and we feel like we can get a little more air out of an Ollie with the 2021 over past models. Carving: Its not a dedicated carver but its got some good qualities. Besides the slight lack of speed, the board was a little too soft for me. Skidded Turns: Way easier than last year and you can loose a little control and skid your way out. This is about as good as you can get for a directional twin. Uneven Terrain: Not bad here for such a stiff flex. I thought about trying the 153 but the max stance width is 22.1 so I couldnt even get to my minimum 22.5 stance width for that board. Bindings: Union Atlas, Burton Genesis X, Powder: There is a very good directional float when you set it all the way back at a 22.75 stance width. For example, the 156 was still slow for me at size 9 boots but it could have been a lot slower. The YES Standard offers a pretty forgiving board that progressively gets wider as it goes up in size and if your boot size matches up well to it you could have a pretty solid one board quiver to do a little bit of everything on the mountain. Final verdict. So all and all, the Jones Mountain Twin from years 2017-2020 is a fun ride that will fit a wide variety of riders. A few things to consider here.
